In the first twelve working days of September, Brazil exported 256,577.1 tons of poultry meat and its edible offal, fresh, refrigerated or frozen, according to the report released by the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, through the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex).
This volume represents an increase of 85,228.1 tons in relation to the accumulated in the two previous weeks (171,349) and is already 80.3% of the 319,519.7 tons that were exported throughout the month of September 2020.
With this, the daily average of shipments was 21,381.4 tons, which in comparison to the same period last year, represents an increase of 40.53% compared to 15,212.56 in September 2020.
“The performance of chicken meat exports remains at a very high level, with a very good performance in exports and without depending that much on China. The fact is that Brazil is very dominant in this sector, exporting chicken meat to over 100 countries. In addition, Brazil has halal shipping, a very important market for Brazil, explored for over 15 years”, says the analyst at SAFRAS & Mercado, Fernando Henrique Iglesias.
In financial terms, Brazil exported a total of US$ 441,075.6 thousand in the period, against US$ 434,036.3 thousand in September last year. In the daily average, the current month registered an increase of 77.83%, reaching US$ 36,753.8 thousand per business day against US$ 20,668.4 thousand in September 2020.
The gain in the value obtained per ton shipped was 26.54%, going from US$ 1,358.40 last year to US$ 1358.40 this September.
According to consolidated data from Secex, from January to August, Brazil has already exported 2,810,921 tonnes of poultry meat, 6.1% more than in the same period last year.
